Should I Sell my Florida Home Now or Wait Until Next Season?



As the market starts to hit its full stride, I’ve been getting the same question a lot lately from homeowners in Southwest Florida. They’ve been asking me, “Should I sell now, or just wait until next season?”

My response always has been, and always will be, no! Why would you want to wait? There are so many reasons to get and stay on the market right now if you want to sell your home for top dollar.

Right now, we have low inventory all over the market. Many of your neighbors are taking their homes off the market right now to wait until next season, but you don't have to. With a lower supply of inventory than usual, you will likely be able to sell for a higher price.


Across the country, there are serious and motivated buyers on the market looking for homes. A lot of our buyers come from out-of-state, so these conditions are allowing them to sell their northern homes quickly, and allows them to look for and buy homes in Southwest Florida now. Locals also tend to buy in higher numbers during the spring market. They want their children in the new home before the school year starts, so they want to buy now and move in during the summer. 

By selling now, you won’t just be able to sell for more money, you’ll be able to relieve yourself of the financial burden of another year. We’re not sure what will happen with the election in November, but if you’re thinking of selling right now, let’s look at the market today.
