Today I am sharing some commonly asked questions from sellers
so you know what to ask when choosing your own Realtor.

Choosing an agent is crucial. Make sure they have the skill and experience to negotiate the best terms for YOU! If they don’t can cost you time and money. What type of marketing will they do to sell your home? Ask them to be specific and explain their marketing plan. Also, find out if they reach buyers proactively and what they will do differently to expose your property both domestically and internationally. We have a strong web presence with over 300 sites, and have offices in over 100 countries to reach the foreign market. A lot of European, Canadian, and South American buyers search for properties in our market, so it’s crucial that your agent is able to reach them. What type of photography do they use for your marketing? Does this Realtor use a professional photographer? What about a videographer and drones? Will they stage your property and prepare it for showings? We absolutely do all of this for you. We are happy to help.

What is the agent’s track record? It is really important to know how long the agent has been in business and if they are a Realtor or a broker. You also may want to find out about their educational background and what designations they may have. What type of history do they have with listing and selling properties like yours? Finally, what is their sales data?

We can provide you written proof of our track record through the MLS. I bring a copy of this to every appointment. I can also bring you the data for every agent that you may be considering. This way you can make an informed decision and choose the agent that has the experience and knowledge to get the job done.

How many homes have they sold in the last year, three years, five years, or 10 years? Are they consistent? You need someone who has weathered the storms and remained in business.

Finally, you need to take a look at the company. Are they local or are they international? Do they have a large marketing and advertising budget? How many offices and agents do they have?

All of these things are critical because they may mean the difference between whether your home sells or sits.

If you have any questions about this or if you are interested in buying or selling, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
